Attention Residents!

From Your Skyview Volunteer Fire Company

Have you ever?

.... Been in a situation where someone was hurt and you wanted to step in and help?
...Seen an accident and wanted to assist the people involved?
...Tried to make new friends that share your interests?
...Wanted to get more involved in the community you are living in?

The Skyview Volunteer Fire Company is looking for Active Members, men and women eighteen years of age or older, in good physical condition, who can spare Thursday evenings for training and fire company activities. "We realize that because of work and other commitments, no one can respond to every alarm. We only ask that our members make a reasonable effort to respond to alarms when they are available."

The fire company has a Junior Firefighter Program for sixteen and seventeen year-old teenagers. This program provides training and orientation to these members. They can respond to fires and assist at emergencies, but they cannot perform interior firefighting duties until they turn eighteen. This program provides excellent training and will be very useful for when they are eighteen. With many colleges requesting or requiring community service as part of an application package, the junior firefighter program is an excellent way for borough high school students to meet these requirements and help their neighbors at the same time.

Business Member: Not everyone has to run into a burning building to be helpful. In fact, a large amount of the work required in the fire service is to ensure that we are ready to respond when the call comes in. We welcome your skills and talents to help us behind the scenes.

Please Call Chief Steve Marone at (412)-965-7466 for more information and applications.
